Dear Friends:
I know something about trade agreements, having served in the US government in foreign and trade policy positions for 17 years before starting my current business. When many domestic organizations and companies from numerous sectors agree on trade policy, the impact on government officials is significant. We simply cannot afford to have only multinationals influencing our government’s trade policy.
I’m asking you to sign on to support the 21st Century Trade Agreement Principles that I, the Coalition for a Prosperous America and many other organizations and companies developed with six months of hard work. These Principles cover issues like balanced trade, state-owned commercial enterprises, enforcement and other important trade matters from the point of view of U.S. producers and the American economy.
Our signatory goal is 500 companies and organizations over the next few months. After 30 days, we have over 120.
The U.S. Trade Representative is vigorously negotiating a trade deal – the Trans Pacific Partnership – with eight other Pacific nations. CPA and other trade association signatories have been engaging in that process but we need your help to show what American producers want.
If you are an authorized representative of a company, farm, ranch or organization, please sign-on to the “21st Century Trade Agreement Principles“. Your organization or company signature gives us more clout before trade officials and Congress to influence future trade deals so America can benefit.
Sincerely,
Charles Blum, President, IAS Group, Ltd.
Director of Government Relations, CPA
