Unions plan to use the summer congressional recess to hold congressional incumbents and candidates accountable for their stances on a possible lame-duck Trans-Pacific Partnership vote, according to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.

“Every candidate [running for a seat in Congress] will be asked and we will demand an answer about what they will do in the lame-duck [on TPP],” Trumka said during a July 15 press call. “We will make them declare where they are on this issue.”

When asked about the likelihood of a lame-duck vote on the deal, Trumka stressed that the presumptive nominees for president from both parties oppose the agreement and said he hopes there will be no vote later this year. But, he added, unions “will be prepared if there is,” reiterating that activism over the past two years has “slammed the brakes” on the deal he titled “nothing but NAFTA on steroids.”

This TPP issue is bringing WE THE PEOPLE to the edge. It is nice to hear that UNIONS are going after the folk in legislation that may vote in favor of the TPP. The problem is that some of the UNIONS were not smart enough to understand that some people running for president (SLICK HILLY) only SAYS that SHE is against the TPP. HOWEVER, aside from saying that SHE is against the TPP, what has SHE done to stop this tragedy that is about to happen during the LAME DUCK?
    THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT.

Any pol who even thinks about voting for the TPP, or any deal from here on out, is for sure an enemy of every working class citizen in this nation! And as such, should be cut offfrom campaign donations, and voted out of office!
