DETAILS: What are the implications of China’s growing power for the U.S.? David Lampton has investigated the military economic, and ideational dimensions of Chinese power in his latest book The Three Faces of Chinese Power: Might, Money and Minds. In his remarks, Dr. Lampton will examine China's past, present, and likely future uses of power, the underlying strengths and weaknesses of China’s strategy, and how the U.S. should view and respond to China’s rise.
David Lampton is the Director of China Studies and Dean of Faculty at the Johns Hopkins University of Advanced International Studies. He is the author of Same Bed, Different Dreams: Managing U.S.-China Relations, 1989-2000 and the editor of The Making of Chinese Foreign and Security Policy in the Era of Reform. Mr. Lampton will be available for a limited time after the event to sign copies of his new book.
