DETAILS:       Health care has been a controversial issue in the United
States for decades. In fact, it is not one but many issues:  the
wellness of the American public, rapid cost escalation,
coverage for the uninsured, fair pay for medical
                        professionals, competitive disadvantages for American
businesses, and more.  Over the years, many proposals have
been advanced for solving the perennial crisis in health care.

What can be learned from earlier reform efforts?  What new ideas can be offered to give America at long last a world-class health care system accessible to all?  Former Senator Tm Daschle (D-SD) will offer his perspectives on these questions at our next Forum.  Gerald Shea of the AFL will provide a response from the labor movement.  Then, as we always do at the Forum, the floor will be open to all participants to comment and pose questions.  This promises to be a lively and instructive session.

A limited number of copies of Sen. Daschle's book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health Care Crisis, will be available for purchase at the door.

A complimentary breakfast meeting buffet will be available.
