Protect our Sovereignty

Did you know that every time we have entered a trade agreement, we have given up part of our sovereignty? For example, Chapter 11 of the North American Free Trade Agreement is about Investor State Dispute Settlements (ISDS). Sounds complicated right? Through this clause, foreign companies within the trading countries can sue the U.S. government for trade impeding laws and "loss of future profit."

The most recent case against our government was brought to us by Canada and Mexico who weren't happy with our Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) laws. They deemed COOL as a trade barrier against their products sold in the U.S. Guess what, they won! Thanks to that, we now won't know where our beef and poultry come from! Crazy right?

This is where we come in. We are meeting with YOUR elected officials and informing them on how this is pure madness! The Trans-Pacific Partnership has this same ISDS clause and it could lead to worse implications! We want to protect our sovereignty and the only way we can fight against it is by educating!
