Former USTR General Counsel, Stephen Vaughn, to Join CPA Advisory Board

Washington. The Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) continues to expand its leadership capacity as it advocates for new, national trade and economic policies. The group is proud to welcome two new members to its advisory board: Stephen Vaughn, who recently served as General Counsel for the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR); and, economist and author David Lynn.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Stephen and David join our team,” said Michael Stumo, CEO of the CPA. “Both of them bring tremendous wisdom, judgment and knowledge to our organization. We’re looking forward to Stephen and David providing their advice and expertise as CPA continues working towards trade and tax policies that balance trade, grow the economy, and create good paying jobs.”

Vaughn recently completed two years of service as General Counsel for the US Trade Representative. In early 2017, he also served as the acting US Trade Representative. Vaughn is widely considered a leading authority on US trade policy, and has garnered extensive experience in both government and private sector legal work. His experience includes supervision of US litigation efforts at the World Trade Organization (WTO). A partner at King & Spalding LLP, Vaughn has also served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he co-taught a seminar on U.S. trade policy and the WTO.

Also joining CPA’s advisory board is institutional real estate executive David Lynn. The author of six critically-acclaimed books and over 80 widely-referenced financial industry articles, Lynn earned his Ph.D. and MS in Financial Economics at the London School of Economics. He has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sloan School of Management, MIT, where he was a Sloan Fellow, and an MA at Cornell University in Planning and Real Estate. Lynn’s published works include: Active Private Equity Real Estate Strategy (John Wiley and Sons 2009), Emerging Market Real Estate Investment (John Wiley and Sons, 2010), Real Estate Mathematics (Private Equity International 2011), and The Investor’s Guide to Commercial Real Estate Investment (ULI 2015).
