Schumer: Trump 'governing like a lamb' in not blaming China on trade, says 'I do'

November 10, 2017

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said today that while President Trump “may not blame China” for the U.S. trade deficit, he does – “and so do millions of Americans who voted for him and others who have lost their jobs at the hands of China’s rapacious trade policies.”

Schumer's statement was issued in response to reports that Trump, in China, lamented the size of the trade deficit with Beijing – and called again for its reduction – but said he did not blame China for acting in its interests in dealing with prior U.S. administrations. “After all, who can blame a country for being able to take advantage of another country for the benefit of its citizens?” Trump said. “I give China great credit.”

Senator Schumer is a posturing jackass and a demagogue. If Trump brought back all eight million manufacturing jobs, overnight, Schumer would be warning us about how manufacturing was “destroying the planet.”

Senator Schumer and his ilk have done exactly JACK SQUAT to bring back manufacturing, or to slow the loss of our manufacturing jobs. As a matter of fact, the Democrats have done everything in their power to ratchet up the regulations that helped to drive manufacturing out of this country. Check out “Sand in the Gears,” by Andrew O. Smith for a rundown on how our government has regulated manufacturing out of this country. Read “How Bill Clinton Sent Our Manufacturing Jobs to China.” Here is the link: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/09/how_bill_clinton_sent_manufacturing_jobs_to_china.html

I voted for Trump because he promised to “make China play fair,” among other things. He also appointed Peter Navarro, co-author of “Death by China,” as his trade guru. Here is the link to the trailer for “Death by China.” The video is free on Youtube. The book is excellent, also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9pXRSzFcKg

On the other hand, Trump, and I, am more concerned, at the moment, about North Korea and China’s role in resolving that problem.

Our greedy incompetent government dribbled away our manufacturing, and our technology, over the past 30 years. Even if Trump mandated “balanced trade,” with China, it would take years to re-create any sort of manufacturing base, and decades to bring back our manufacturing like it was 30 years ago.

Personally, I don’t believe we will ever see the return of our manufacturing, or of the middle-class jobs that it supported. There are too many people who favor socialism as the way of the future, and having a thriving middle class, earning high wages and good benefits in manufacturing , would, again, thwart that outcome.
