Marty Davis is the president and chief executive officer of Cambria—the nation’s leading American-made, family-owned natural quartz surface producer—and was critical in the founding of the company.
Marty graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology. He began developing his entrepreneurial business skills at Davisco Foods International, helping transform his family’s 3rd generation creamery business into an important global player in the international dairy industry.
In 2001, using the same innovative thinking, risk-taking spirit, and team management philosophy, Marty led the charge in founding a brand-new family business focused on quartz processing and surfacing.
Inspired from the family’s Welsh heritage, the beautiful natural landscapes of the Cambrian regions of Wales, and his father Mark Davis’s keen wisdom on the matter, the company was so named, Cambria. What started as a small 150,000-square-foot processing facility in Le Sueur, Minnesota, has now become a nearly one-million-square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing and design operation. The company additionally owns regional distribution centers in 17 markets across the country as well as 6 Cambria fabrication facilities in Minnesota, Chicago, Indianapolis, Toronto, Cleveland, and Palm Desert along with branded galleries in select locations across the United States and Canada. Cambria is also distributed internationally in over 20 countries worldwide.
Cambria’s natural quartz countertops and surfaces can be found in homes and a wide range of commercial establishments, including high-profile venues such as US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Yankee Stadium, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, the Baccarat Hotel in New York, the Empire State Building, the University of Michigan, the Cincinnati Airport, the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, and on the set of the hit CBS drama The Good Fight.
The company has also diversified and expanded to include complementary businesses, further driving the Cambria brand through Cambria Title™, Cambria Mortgage™, and Cambria Financial™. Cambria Style is a nationally distributed lifestyle magazine that has helped create awareness for Cambria as an integral part of stylish modern living. Additionally, Marty spearheaded the vision and led the purchase of Sun Country Airlines in 2011, then leading the management of the company to become the largest privately held airline in the United States, and in 2018, engineered the sale of the company to Apollo Capital Management of New York.
Deeply committed to community outreach, Marty and his wife, Anne, along with the Cambria team, founded the Camp Cambria® Foundation in 2014. The foundation’s key initiative, Camp Cambria®, is a weeklong summer camp program in Minnesota and Ontario where children living with juvenile arthritis focus on building self-esteem, managing their disease, and meeting kids just like themselves.
In 2019, Anne and Marty launched CambriaCares, a philanthropic platform in which the Cambria team endeavors to help educate and support many causes in need of direction, awareness, finance, and promotion.
